Dark Ages Leaders

I submitted these figures to the Painting Challenge a while back but I am still catching up on re-posting here.
What we have here is my last Plastic Norman Knight by Conquest and mounted and dismounted English Kings from Crusader. Some valuable leadership for Dark Ages forces.
Not the best photos but you get the general idea of how they look.
During the challenge I acquired some more Little Big Man decals and they are for the Plastic Gripping Beast shields. So I glued these on instead of the metal ones that came with the King Alfred figure (white horse riding King).
Looking at the back of the Kings now they look very plain and so I might take some time in the future to consider some sort of border pattern to add that royal sparkle. Some of these figures had to be reworked a little to fix some overspray they got when I sprayed the wrong can near them (Yellow instead of Matt Spray!). I have used some Army Painter meadow flowers on the bases to help them further stand out from the riff-raff.

Cheers for now from Brendon

  4. Thanks for the comments people.
I think perhaps Rohan was inspired by Dark Ages imagery.
The Celtic looking viking style carvings and architecture and so on.
    Very cool what they did.
    cheers
