While not the best photos below you can see how I went with this. Rather than a nicely applied totally white workshop spray job, this tank is in the style of painted with brooms, rags and whatever else came to hand in the field. The snow has started to thaw and the Mud Season is about to begin.
Be sure to go have a look to how other hobbyists responded to the Cold theme here.
The Panzer is an older Battlefront 15mm Resin and metal. I actually prepped and primed the tank black for the last challenge. It painted a lot quicker than I thought it would take.
Is he on the Radio or someone just farted in the Tank? |
Cheers from Brendon
A very effective paint scheme, I like it a lot. That's definitely a "gas attack" he's reacting to :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice camo and weathering. Makes me think fondly of my earliest forays into military modeling with a Tamiya kit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul and Dean. Cheers
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great in this picture. I'd never done snow effects before and was afraid to try, but the Challenge got me past the fear.
ReplyDeleteThat's the great thing about the challenge. Motivation to try something not attempted before.
Deletecheers
Great job, love the camo!
ReplyDeleteThat's one cold cat!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil and Michael. Cheers
ReplyDeleteIt looks terrific Kiwi, I initially thought it was a 28mm sculpt, I would love to see you do a whole cold army.
ReplyDeleteThat's about as good as compliment that I could get. Thank you very much sir anda whole army like this could indeed be interesting. cheers
DeleteVery effective job :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Scott. Cheers
DeleteYeah that is an excellent paint job! I can actually see the brush strokes the crew made in my mind. Really effective random, haphazard field-applied camo.
ReplyDeleteTwo tentacles way up.
I knew that was a Battlefront tank as soon as I saw it. I don't know why so much of their stuff looks 'melty' to me. No crisp, clean edges. Even the fenders tend to be all bendy, cuz hell- they come that way in the box!
And all the barrels are usually bent, too. Lolz.
Nuthin' could hold down that paint job tho.
Too sweet.
Thanks SinSynn for the two tentacles. The melty is noticeable on the axe and shovel. It's an old product though and I think they have improved now. Cheers
